Govinda e. V. & Shangrila | Together for Nepal

Govinda e.V. (based in Aalen, Germany) and Shangrila Entwicklungshilfe (based in Zürich, Switzerland) work under a joint initiative called “Together for Nepal”. They have been actively working to support marginalized communities in Nepal since 1998. Govinda e.V. and Shangrila Entwicklungshilfe support SDA through financial backing, global fundraising, strategic supervision, and collaborative evaluation.

Specifically targeting the remote, impoverished region of Kalikatar, this partnership funds organic agriculture initiatives to fight malnutrition, rural health and hygiene training to lower infant mortality, school scholarships, and a specialized residential “Education House” that protects and supports young girls on their path to graduation.

• Their Mission: They work to promote education, social housing, women’s empowerment, health, organic agriculture, environmental sustainability, and humanitarian aid.
• Their Philosophy: They align closely with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and child rights. Crucially, they believe in participatory, localized development. Their motto is to provide “only as much support as necessary” because they firmly trust the competence of their Nepalese partners to lead independent, long-term, and sustainable change.
